Was just in NY for a visit, managed to join the Wednesday Night skate (https://www.facebook.com/WednesdayNightSkateNYC2.0/)...
Great to skate in Manhattan, though just a small group and completely un-protected (simply street skating among the traffic - NY Taxi's don't seem to like skaters! ).
Skated around 15km, taking in Times Square along the route - quite an experience, I can recommend if you're ever in the city on a Wednesday evening between April and October.
We met with Thibault (who moved to NY a few years ago) there too - see left of the image - we're on the right!

A great bunch of people to skate with and thankfully none of them were Trump supporters!

Hey Matt,great I did twice in 2004, Time Square was not closed for the traffic like now and I was there in 2011 during the winter period, you should go in Brooklyn,Harlem, Queens, in the Bronks also you have a good route along the Hudson river, you have an amazing sunset there Have a fun guys !

Times Square is open for traffic these days too...
Already home by now, but we did also a little of the 'green way' along the Hudson too. I have some contacts from that group in case anyone is going and wants to skate with them, they mentioned some other places and groups they skated with too, not just the Wednesday night session...
